Excellent condition steel and gilded cuirass worn by a Cuirassier officer in Regiments Nos.3, 4, 5,7 & 8. Complete with its correct scales, original leather waist strap, original leather behind the chin scales. The hook to the upper right hand chin scale for securing the bandolier in place is missing. Padded lining absent. A superb display piece with an officers Cuirassier helmet.

A very scarce set of leather equipment uniquely issued to members of the colonial troops for the German colonies. The leather is soft and supple, complete with its cross straps, riveted bayonet frog. A very attractive 5.5cm double constructed badge with the German flags at the base. Juncker Berlin stamped, marked K.B.A.G. SER.2 with an individual number 08539. Pin back construction. the Vater-Landischer Hilfs Dienst were a civil organisation supporting the war effort.  read more
