GERMAN WWI ADAPTED FIGHTING KNIFE.

A highly unusual fighting knife with a standard blade in excellent condition. The hilt is a miniaturised version of the model 1898 02 and 05 bayonet, complete with its slotted bayonet system and sprung loaded fitting button. An excellent pair of Imperial German enlisted ranks jack boots. A rare piece of pre war equipment being the bag used by Dispatch riders and cyclists. This was worn on the back in haversack form and has fixtures for the shoulder strap to the rear, which have never been fitted. There is a clear date of ‘1888’ to the top throat of the bag. A waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf 1916 manufactured and dated bolt action rifle being the standard arm of the German infantrymen of WWI. Gun number 8676.
