A most magnificent condition all leather pickelhaube for a Prussian medical officer, identified. The gilt is mint bright, the reserve officers cross to the front gilded plate in silver colour. The camouflage centre bands are normally found on pork pie hats ( the Feldmutz ) and it is exceptionally rare to find one on an NCO visor cap. The cap itself unusually in an upper size 56 or 57. One of the most difficult States or Duchy’s helmets to obtain of the Imperial German era. Hand inscribed size ‘56’ to the upper inner crown of the leather skull. GERMAN WWI M.16 TRENCH HELMET WITH LINER AND ORIGINAL CHINSTRAP.

A very nice condition trench helmet, shell stamped ‘ET64’ retaining a good majority of its early apple green finish. Rivets are all untouched. There are the faint remains of a post home label on the outside of the helmet. A superb bodily condition ships clock from the Imperial Navy. Maker marked to the face side ‘A Schuchmann of Wilhelmshaven’. Imperial crown over ‘M’ numbered ‘3663’. Undamaged all brass body.
