A small size helmet, the size of the shell is ‘ET66’. The exterior camouflage in a Normandy finish of tan and brown. The Luftwaffe decal is half complete, the lower half including the swastika has broken away through rusting on the paint in that area, which has developed from the steel foliage wire, which surrounds the helmet and is clipped on in four places, the coverage is good. GERMAN WWII M16 0R 17 DOUBLE DECAL TRANSITIONAL HELMET.

A fabulous example of a M 16 or 17 shell stamped ‘Q 66’. The remains of the original strap lugs can be seen, reused at the early part of the Third Reich period, painted in early apple green with just three minor chips to the paintwork. The Army decal is good and clear with slight chipping to the upper right hand corner. The national tricolour is complete with one small chip to the red section. ...  read more

A battle damaged fabulous camouflage paint finish combat helmet. The shell is stamped ‘EF 66’, batch numbers are indistinct. The helmet has a mixture of tan and green and we would suspect the theatre of use being Tunisia or Southern Italy, the paint coverage is excellent. A size NS 62 shell, the outer shell covered in a mixture of grey paint mixed with sand, the army decal has faded away. It would appear that the helmet has been sent to an ordinance recovery depot and a M 40 liner has been fitted, the liner retaining rivet heads do not have the rough grey finish as the rest of the shell. Shell size E.T. 64, batch number 344, issued as a standard M 40 combat helmet. The shell has been over painted in a dark shade of tropical paint, we would suggest southern Italy or the Balkans.
