An extremely difficult helmet to find being a regimentally marked all leather pickelhaube from the Leib Grenadier Regiment No.100 of Saxony. A most magnificent condition all leather pickelhaube for a Prussian medical officer, identified. The gilt is mint bright, the reserve officers cross to the front gilded plate in silver colour. A superb trench periscope, 160cm in length, in its original issue paint. Manufactured by Hansoldt of Wetzlar. Dated ‘1918’, in its original all tin carrying case with the remains of its paper substitute strap.
