GERMAN WWII WAFFEN SS GREEN BEVO FIELD CAP EAGLE.

The extremely scarce Bevo woven eagle for the SS camouflage reversable cap, green bevo weave on black backing which would have been placed on the spring-coloured outer camouflage of the cap, to the interior autumn pattern camouflage would have been applied another eagle with brown weave to the centre of the eagle.  read more

A fair size, probably size 57 tropical cap in light tan material. What we refer to, in the collector community as a 'one looker' ! This is a great, 'been there' example having supple, well used cloth. Severe rubbing across the breast of the eagle. Some of the navy gilt remaining to the outer body of the buckle. Stamped ‘R S & S’ to the inside, some of which has been obliterated by the wear of the belt clip. Both double pronged belt fixing systems working. R S & S were the most prolific suppliers of belt buckles to the Kriegsmarine.  read more

A nice example, size 56, of a 2nd pattern tropical visored field cap with its untouched Bevo woven blue on tan eagle and cockade, with the field adaptation of officers corded style piping to the crown and front scallop of the cap.
