This highly unusual Political Leaders buckle, which normally comes in gilt is described on page 164 of Belt Buckles and Brocades of the Third Reich by John R.Angolia as unidentified and/or possibly as a gilt buckle with the gilding faded. GERMAN THIRD REICH DAK/POW UNIFORM GROUPING.

An interesting reminder of war being a 2nd pattern type Afrika Korps tunic and standard pattern straight leg trousers that were recently recovered from Italy. These items show extremely extensive wear, their origin was from a POW camp and items appear to have been left behind by various departing prisoners and were discovered in Italy.
