A nice condition size ‘55½’ pencil marked to the inside of the skull, all leather skull. Both peaks securely attached to the main body. All of the fittings, which include the back strap, the large cruciform spike base, the removable smooth spike, front plate with the letters ‘FR’ to the centre and the domed chin scales, front peak trim are all in white metal. GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE AUXILIARY CRUISER BADGE.

Non maker marked as conforming with the Foerster & Barth design. Good example shown on page 504 of The Kriegsmarine Awards Volume 1. One-piece construction. No separate rivet holding the globe, with its needle pin, wire hook fitted to a circular plate. Faint traces of the Foerster & Barth die flaw to the bottom right hand leg of the swastika. The badge retains subdued gilt.  read more
