An absolutely genuine tank splatter mask from WWI, designed to protect the crew of tanks from shrapnel shards. The leather on the exterior is good and undamaged, the suede to the interior also good with slight white paint splashes. BRITISH PRE WWI ROYAL NAVAL SENNET STRAW HAT.

First introduced in 1890 and worn through to 1921, very few pictures of this hat being worn exist but enough do exist to identify this example perfectly.
