BRITISH WWII AUXILIARY FIRE SERVICE BRODIE HELMET.

1940 dated liner Brodie helmet, hand painted to the exterior, which has crazed is the lettering ‘AFS’ this was before the introduction of the Fire Service insignia. The liner is complete, marked size ‘7’ dated ‘1940’. The inner liner has solidified and crazed overall with its original sweatband. All white painted, central black stripe with letter ‘R’ to both front and back of the helmet. The interior rim painted white with rust bleed. Complete with its elasticated webbing chinstrap. During WWI Great Britain supplied Portugal with steel helmets, these had a fluted bowl and smooth lower brim. This example used by the Portuguese Volunteer Legion fighting with the nationalist forces in Spain in 1936 to 39. FRENCH WWI ADRIAN INFANTRY ENLISTED MANS HELMET WITH ORIGINAL COVER.

Nice condition Adrian helmet in horizon blue retaining much of its original paint finish with some light chippings. An original owner’s initials hand inscribed into the inner rear skirt. Liner excellent. Fitted with a totally original helmet cover for the Adrian helmet, an original cover, which are extremely rare. Slight tearing to the cover on the front brim.  read more

BRITISH WWI SOMERSET LIGHT INFANTRY SOUVENIR HELMET.

A standard rimless WWI 1st pattern Brodie helmet, its liner is complete, the chinstrap is half complete. On either side of the helmet is fitted a SLI brass shoulder title, A cap badge of the Somerset Light Infantry fitted to the front,.
