GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE TROPICAL OVERSEAS CAP.

A highly unusual cap in its construction being in the standard boat shaped form but constructed in a tropical canvas type material with a heavy weave into the cloth. Faded yellow piping around the scallop of the cap with a machine embroidered enlisted ranks eagle and national cockade. The interior in a faded light blue devoid of any markings. This excellent 1966 published volume Band 1, for the fighter pilots 39-45 being the full list of all of the Knights Cross Winners for the fighter pilots of the Luftwaffe. 250 pages with biographies of every Knights Cross Winner with nearly all having a photograph attachment text in german and English. THE KNIGHTS CROSS WINNERS OF THE LUFTWAFFE 1939-45 VOL 2.

This scarce 1988 work by the same authors that produced the 1966 publication on the fighter pilots have furthered their work by completing the Knight Cross Winner of all the Stuka and Schlachtflieger aces of WWII. Much text all in German, many photographs accompanied by biographies of the pilots. This was never published with a dust cover. Excellent condition.  read more
