GERMAN WWII AFRIKAKORPS PANZER GRENADIER CAP.

A size 55 textbook example of an untouched Carl Halfer 1940 cap, 1st Pattern without internal sweatband, in standard olive cloth, worn and used but not sun-bleached or faded. The insignia is as expected: 1st pattern bevo tropical eagle and roundel, applied in the known style of Carl Halfer, being factory zig-zag machine stitched. The apple green Panzer Grenadier soutache (russia braid) in tightly machine-stitched and enters the body of the cap on the stitch line. The interior red lining shows signs of wear and sweat stains, especially to the brow, forehead section. The strong black ink stamp of Carl Halfer, date of 1940 and size 55. Although not bleached, this cap is an unquestionable example of an early DAK cap in untouched condition.
