GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE TROPICAL M.40 HELMET.

A Q66 shell painted in tropical brown, approximately 60% of the original paint finish remaining to the outer shell. The paint from the liner retaining rivet heads have disappeared. The liner is complete and has been in situ since the helmet was produced, nice colour, drawstring missing, with its original chinstrap. The interior dome is still in its Luftwaffe blue grey, the inner skirt of the helmet in tropical paint. An owner’s name has been painted in white to the inner rear skirt. Batch number ‘6425’. The maker’s name to the strap is obliterated but a clear date of ‘1937’ is visible. The collector’s original very descriptive label is still attached to the helmet.
