BRITISH WWII NAVAL OFFICERS CAP.
A WWII but possibly mid 1930’s produced all blue top Royal Naval officers cap, marked size 7 ¼. Attached to its woollen band is the very nice multi constructed in bullion wire velvet and metal the Royal Naval officers cap badge. Standard narrow patent strap with black side buttons and a row of bullion lace denoting for the rank of Commander. Leather trimmed front peak. . To the inner crown the faint outline of the original outfitters who supplied the cap, which appears to be Monnerys of London, Southampton and Liverpool. The original paper size label of 7 ¼ is still fitted to the mid tan leather sweatband. The form of the cap is more akin to a First World War style naval officers cap.
