GERMAN WWII GRAND CROSS OF THE IRON CROSS BY RUDOLF SOUVAL, IN ITS ORIGINAL CASE.
A superb example produced just post WW11 war by Rudolf Souval of Wein of the famous Grand Cross of the Iron Cross. The Cross retains all its original silver frosting, is 800 silver stamped and is with its full length ribbon and suspension loop. The case in mint condition in red leather with large gilt eagle and swastika to the exterior lid, stamped ‘Rudolf Souval Wien’ with the address to the inner upper silk of the lid. The Grand Cross of the Iron Cross instituted in 1813, repeated in 1870 where there were 9 recipients, reinstituted in 1914 with 5 recipients and reinstituted again in 1939 with the only recipient being Hermann Goering in WWII.
