Nice blade by Robert Klass of Solingen with much original cross grain finish remaining. There are some light spots to the edge of the blade, the blade is full length, it has not been reprofiled. The only other marks on the blade are the commonly encountered markings from the inner scabbard brass blade retaining bands. Early nickel fittings to the upper and lower cross guard with SS Roman numeral ‘I’ stamped to the rear of the lower cross guard. High quality national eagle. Undamaged enamel to the SS runic symbol. Minor indentations to the grip, no losses to the wood. Fitted into its correct anodised scabbard, there is some surface rust bleed on the reverse side. Faint traces of the original blueing still exist in the area just below the upper scabbard mount. All screws are intact. The lower scabbard is slightly loose on one of its screw. A minor indentation to the face side of the scabbard lower half. The sale of Knives, other Edged Weapons and Firearms are restricted to those aged over 18.
