PRE 1900 ZULU LEADERS WOODEN WIRE BOUND STAFF.

These wire bound staffs were a form of insignia identifying ranks within the structure of Zulu regiments. This example 86cm in length with wood ball top, which at some time in its life has been split and been re-stapled together. The complete length of the haft is superbly decorated in brown and silver wire. These decorated staffs come in many forms and this is the longest wire bound staff we have ever been able to obtain.
