GERMAN WWI DE-ACTIVATED LUGER PISTOL.
Maker marked crown over ‘ERFURT’ dated ‘1916’. Imperial acceptance stamps, some mismatched numbers. This pistol has been well used, the chequering on the wood grips have been worn flat in areas. Toggle function works perfectly. The weapon does dry fire. Fitted into its well worn brown leather holster with faint traces of a makers mark and matching date of ‘1916’. Nice army group markings to the upper inner flap plus also what looks like regimental markings but very difficult to read. Complete with its stripping tool, spare correct magazine with its wooden base. The holster has had interesting alterations, a section of black leather has been inserted, possibly to stop dirt and wet entering the holster from the side, the closing strap has been moved, we firmly believe this to be a period alteration by the wearer. On the reverse side both belt loops are present and strong. Complete with its UK de-activation certificate dated ‘1989’. The alteration to the closing strap is strange, it has been replaced to the right of the closing flap and cannot close without the strap being bent backwards. This de-activated Luger cannot be purchased in the United Kingdom or within the European Union unless it is re-deactivated to present EU standards, any other countries purchaser wishing to buy this item should consult their own country’s regulations. The sale of Knives, other Edged Weapons and Firearms are restricted to those aged over 18.
