GERMAN WWI ARRAS BATTLEFIELD PICK-UP M.16 HELMET.

An unusually small size G62 stamped M.16 helmet. Some traces of its original apple green finish remaining. The number ‘295’ applied in red paint to the inner rear skirt. On pulling down the front interior liner pad the wording ‘Arras 9th April 17’ has been hand applied in pencil to the leather inner liner band. Obviously, a battlefield pick-up. Two of the liner pads are still fitted into the helmet, the third liner pad is present but has come completely adrift from the band itself. All three inner horsehair pads are present.
