GERMAN WWI 98/05 BAYONET IN LEATHER SCABBARD.

The blade has some dark patches but has not been abused. ‘Simson & Co of Suhl’ marked. 1915 acceptance date stamped on the reverse flat section of the blade. Good undamaged wood grips. Imperial acceptance stamps to the upper pommel. Rifle retaining button working perfectly. Fitted into its original leather and steel mounted scabbard. A paper label is glued to the front of the scabbard, which possibly had an original inscription as to where the bayonet was captured, unfortunately it has faded and is now indecipherable. The central leather section of the scabbard has shrunk making it difficult for the bayonet to be fully inserted into the scabbard.
