GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE SUBMARINER OFFICERS OVERSEAS CAP.

A good upper size naval officers overseas cap, possibly size 56 or 57. Standard boat shape blue material, officers quality, gold piping to the upper side curtains. Complete with its correct gold Bevo woven wire eagle on blue background. Some slight shredding to the left hand wing and its correct matching Bevo woven wire centred national cockade on blue backing. Attached to the side of the cap is a metallic edelweiss badge used U 124. The hat has some slight moth damage on the right hand side of the cap as the cap is worn, close up to where the envelope meets and down the lower right hand edge close to the stitching. Standard dark blue/black inner brushed cotton lining, which has some slight moth damage matching the exterior side damage. A nice feature, which we have noticed on many different overseas caps of all arms of the German services of WWII over many years of handling this style of cap, there are two safety pins, one at the front and one at the back, to keep the envelope closed, giving the hat a slightly different shape.
