GERMAN WWII 3RD MODEL TROPICAL ARMY TUNIC, DER SPEISS.
A very sparsely worn large size 3rd pattern tropical tunic, mainly worn in southern Italy and the Balkans, also worn by the Indian Volunteer Legion. Standard four pocket configuration, five button closure. The straight pocket flaps indicate this is the last pattern of tropical tunic. Complete with its machine stitched blue and tan Bevo woven collar patches. Two rows of Der Speiss tropical lace to each lower sleeve and around the collar. There is a section of War Service Cross ribbon to the second buttonhole. The original 2nd pattern eagle at some time in its life has been removed and has been replaced with the scarce 1st pattern eagle. Very nicely marked to the inside flap of the tunic RB numbers, size stampings and the designation ‘M43’. All closure buttons and pocket buttons are of the removable type. No damage, no stains, shoulder boards missing.
