The Vickers K machine gun known as the Vickers gas operated .303 was a rapid firing machine gun developed and manufactured for use in aircraft by Vickers Armstrong. The gun was first developed in the late 1930’s as a further development from the Vickers Berthier. Later in WWII the Vickers gas operated machine gun found its way into a variety of British commando reconnaissance units, particularly mounted on the SAS Jeeps, due to their high rate of fire they were equal to the German high firing rate machine guns and were extremely effective., along with the SAS , the Long Range Desert Group were also tasked to use the Vickers K. The Airborne Reconnaissance Squadron also mounted these guns on their Jeeps during Operation Market Garden in September 1944. The Vickers K also replaced the Lewis gun onboard motor torpedo boats and motor launches from 1942 onwards. A very historic de-activated weapon. The weapon at the present time is de-activated to UK standards, it cannot be exported without re-deactivating it to EU standards and then it can only be exported to EU countries, any other prospective purchaser outside the UK and EU wishing to purchase this weapon should consult their own governmental regulations.
