GERMAN WWII KNIGHTS CROSS TO THE IRON CROSS, CASED.
A very fine example of a Steinhauer & Luck A type Micro 800 produced piece. The central core retains all its original finish, one slight chip to the paint on the tip of the left hand arm of the swastika. A slight scratch and minor distortion to the lower right hand arm of the cross. The ‘Micro 800’ mark on the reverse side below the ring, matching ‘800’ mark to the loop. An original short section of ribbon, which has been fitted to the award, the ribbon is still in the form as if it was attached to the medal itself. Situated in its original presentation case with front button. Slight scuffs to the left hand front corner of the lid, the satin between the lid and the main box has shredded revealing the brass hinge behind. The impression of the Knights Cross itself is formed into the padding and satin of the upper inner lid. The core of the medal is magnetic. The value of the Knights Cross to the Iron Cross has increased incredibly over the last 10 years and is a firm investment for the future.
