GERMAN WWII ARMY INFANTRY MAJOR’S PIPED FIELD SERVICE TUNIC.
A most beautiful tunic constructed in good heavyweight officers material in field grey green having white waffenfarbe to all of the elements of the tunic. The rank of Major in the 19th Infantry Regiment, high quality breast eagle fitted with one strand of the upper left hand wing loose. Two loops for either a Spanish Cross or a German Cross to the left hand breast pocket as the tunic is worn. To the opposite side of the tunic are four loops for a long medal ribbon bar, a set of double loops and a further set of triple loops for awards. A fabulous red and cream maker’s label for the tailoring company of L. Kielleuthner of Maximillian Strasse , Munich. A hole has been tailored through the lower left hand pocket with a belt clip for the hanging of a sword or dagger. This is a superb tunic. No moth damage or staining. Good bright contrasting colours.
