A fabulous condition all leather pickelhaube, congealing to the skull and front and back peaks, both the peaks are securely attached to the body, the stitches have not rotted. All brass fittings. The front plate is for a reserve enlisted man, standard Prussian plate without scroll, the overlay plate for Brunswick is a one-piece constructed star and Reserve Cross below with the correct wording of ‘FUR FUERST UND VATERLAND’. Correct original chinstrap with its totally original cockades, the national cockade has a good degree of its white, red and black finish remaining, the Brunswick cockade of blue and yellow, the yellow is good and clear but faded considerably. Front peak trim is good, The helmet is marked to the 10th Army Corps with the date ‘1915’ stamped into the rear peak. The liner is complete retaining all its original colour and complete with its black horsehair enlisted ranks parade plume. The helmet comes complete with its parade plume and long plume stem and its original non parade screw in spike. An extremely rare helmet.
