GERMAN WWII 1ST MODEL TROPICAL LUFTWAFFE HERMANN MEYER CAP.
A nice service worn example of the 1st pattern Hermann Meyer cap, these are distinguished by the fact of having in many cases tunic eagles fitted with a single tropical red, white and black cockade below. Stamped inside size ‘56’ by the Company of August Schellenberg and dated ‘1942’. The manufacturer Schellenberg were distinguished within the production companies of the Hermann Meyer cap as the only Company having a proud ridge running between the centre band and the upper part of the cap. Also fitted with its original officer style cap cords. The neck flap is missing. Some staining overall to the crown area. This example of cap shown on page 218 of AFRIKA KORPS 1941-42, VOLUME 2.
