GERMAN WWII MUNICIPAL POLICE OFFICERS SHAKO.

A fabulous condition Erel produced Municipal Police Officers shako, size stamped ’57 ½’ to the inner liner. The green felt sides are absolutely free of any moth damage. The black patent crown and front and back peaks very nice bright black. Fitted with its correct aluminium cross hatched domed chin scales, matching correct officers three dimensional police officers eagle with its correct bullion wire field cockade, also with its white parade plume. The original elastic band that holds the plume in place close to the right hand chin scale as the helmet is viewed is in place but has rotted away, the base of the plume is held to the chin scales by a small section of lightweight wire, which of course is non contemporary. To the interior some minor red rot to the leather on the lower edges of the liner band, to the upper inner crown the outline of the Erel trademark in the art deco style side view of a police officer or soldier wearing a German helmet with the word ‘EREL TSCHAKO’.
