GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN/HANOVARIAN OFFICERS SHAKO.

A rare Prussian/Hanoverian officers shako for the 10th Jager Battalion, a good large size shako which is unusual for leather helmets of this period possibly size 59 or 60, the shako has very good form, the black felt sides good with minor moth nips to the right hand side and the rear, the black patent crown , front and rear peaks good and bright, the gilt to the unique style of front plate and the flat chin scales can be called mint bright, complete with its correct Prussian silver on black field cockade over the front plate, and its national red silver and black round cockade worn on the right hand side of the helmet, the plate has the battle honours of Waterloo, Peninsular, Del Pozo, the interior leather liner excellent with its inner silk lining.
