Standing on its integral bronze base which has 1914 in raised relief to the front, the word “Depose” on the reverse side, the word Depose is a phrase in Belgium used to protect designs and not the sculptor’s name the soldier is wearing his classic Belgium shako, backpack, canteen, rifle and pouches, bayonet fitted to belt.
