GERMAN WWII ARMY OR SS M35 COMBAT HELMET WITH WIRE COVER.

A barn find in Jersey, the occupied Channel Islands, many years ago. An M35 helmet , shell size SE64, a batch number appears to be 956, there is rust bleed in the area of the numbers and as a consequence the numbers are not clear, the helmet has never had decals fitted, it is finished with a very light depth of sand and paint finish, it has been field fitted with a wire cradle and is totally original to the helmet, there is much evidence around the 3 clips of long term fitting. The interior aluminium M35 Liner band and leather in excellent condition, leather stamped size 57, all tongues present and supple, with original drawstring in service worn condition, a fair degree of rust bleed to the interior skirt conversant with long time barn or shed storage. In the 1960s and 1970s, many helmets of this type were discovered in post war sealed tunnels in Jersey.
