FRENCH CHASSEPOT RIFLE BAYONET.

A good clean example of the model 1866 Chassepot bayonet, with its 62 cm blade being in excellent condition, some slight nicks to the sharpened edge the markings and date of the flat back edge difficult to read as the blade has been polished, all steel cross guard numbered 74893, brass ribbed hilt, with its rifle fixing system complete and working, in its all steel nickel plated scabbard which has lost the majority of its plating matching numbered 74893.
