GERMAN WWII U-BOAT ZEISS BINOCULARS.
A generally good set of the heavyweight U-Boat binoculars. Marked on the frame ‘7550’ The Zeis coding of ‘BLC’ with an issue number. The rubberised covering to the eyepieces are present but cracked. The neck strap is present but cracked and broken. The optics are generally excellent, one lens slightly cloudier than the other. The front rubberised protection has broken away and is missing. These binoculars are always highly desirable, hundreds of them were captured and then sold in the 1950’s by the British Admiralty and were sold onto the private market at a then huge price. Because of the missing front eyepieces these are priced accordingly.
