GERMAN WWII ARMY AFRIKAKORPS TROPICAL HELMET.

M.40 helmet, marked ‘Q64’ painted in the absolutely correct colour for North Africa. A pinkish shade of tan, at least 70% of the original paint finish remaining, the losses can be clearly seen on our web images. Years of experience has shown that the majority of tropical painted helmets that appear on the collectors market are Luftwaffe issued and it is extremely difficult to get an army issued helmet, only faint remains of the army decal are visible. To the interior the shell has been painted to the inner rim, the original grey paint finish is present to the upper inner skull. The liner is complete with the exception of a single tongue, which has broken away. It is with its original drawstring and its original full length chinstrap with aluminium buckle. The liner band is the 1940 pattern zinc type. The batch number is too indistinct to read. This is an opportunity to obtain a true North African army issued combat helmet.
