GERMAN WWI M.17 CAMOUFLAGE COMBAT HELMET.

A very atmospheric example in the three colours of green, ochre and tan with black separation lines. The front of the helmet is in a lozenge pattern, the rear matching with small areas of green to the sides. The paint finish overall to the exterior is virtually complete. To the rear right hand side of the shell rust bleed has come up through from the lower rim of the helmet, on both the inside and the outside. The M.17 liner band all complete with solidified remains of the three individual liner pads. The only indication of the manufacturer is the size of 64, which is visible, the two preceding letters identifying the maker have been obliterated by rust corrosion.
