GERMAN WWII ARMY PIONEER/ENGINEER COMPLETE POUCH SET.
The rare set of three pouches and separate satchel used by army pioneers. Very nicely displayed and explained on page 194 of Uniforms & Traditions of the German Army 1933-45 volume 3 by John R. Angolia and Adolf Schlicht. The main set comprises of a central rucksack with the extra pouch for the water bottle, both the left hand and the right hand pouches also with the very hard to find connecting sprung loaded strap. All of the belt loops with their tropical webbing. Flap closure in leather and steel. The right hand pouch having one small field repair to the reverse side having the canvas lined pouch for the gas mask and its closing rope. The central haversack having a mixture of leather and tropical web strappings. The set is accompanied by the engineer’s satchel, which is shown on page 197 of the afore-mentioned book. Nice condition. The shoulder strap is missing, web carrying handle complete. All of the Lux pointed straps are in place.
