A magnificent condition Imperial German fighting knife with the most superb blade marked ‘ERN WALD’ with the abbreviated Rhineland. On the reverse side ‘RASIERMESSE FABRIK’. All the original cross grain finish remaining to the blade, deadly sharp, with the faint outline of its Imperial German acceptance stamp just above the ‘ERN’ markings. The ribbed wood grip is in superb condition, all in its original scabbard, which retains virtually all of its original black painted finish, its full leather loop complete with its male/female closing stud.
