VICTORIAN BRITISH HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT HOME SERVICE HELMET.

A very good example of the late Victorian home service officers helmet for the Hampshire Regiment. The main body of the helmet constructed product of of cork, and covered in four panels of very fine blue Melton wool cloth. This example has one minor moth nip to the rear of the helmet, the nap to the cloth is good overall. The gilt is excellent, Kings crown to the front plate indicating of use between 1902 to 1910, full-length chain. To the interior the very light tan leather sweatband all intact, also with its inner purple silk liner which has shot slightly but it still intact, good light colour to the remainder of the interior the helmet with a good clear Hawkes and Company of Piccadilly maker stamp.
