GERMAN LUFTWAFFE FIELD DIVISION GROUND COMBAT GROUP.

Luftwaffe Ground Combat badge, A5 size citation folded twice to Obergefreiten Emile Schimmel of the 2./PZ.JG.ABT.D.A.LW.FELDDIV, dated 1st april 1943 pen signed by Lt.General W.Spang, complete with unit issue rubber stamp. The Wound Badge in black, A5 size citation, once folded to the same recipient, same unit, dated 12th February 1943 in a Kiev Ukraine hospital and pen signature of the Commanding medical officer with four accompanying photographs of Schimmel plus the bronze DRL Sport Badge 1941 with photograph in Luftwaffe uniform to the same recipient, some pages loose. Accompanied by four Schimmel, one wearing the visor cap, one wearing the M.43 cap and two hatless, one wearing his Luftwaffe Ground Badge badge, wound badge in black and DRL Sports book . The award probably relates to the very heavy fighting around Tagenrog during which the division suffered very heavy casualties.
