GERMAN WWI WURTTEMBERG FELDMUTZE.

We have recently purchased a small collection of six pieces of Imperial German headdress, the collector took great pains over many years to obtain the very best that he could and all six pieces are unbelievable examples. A most magnificent very large size 61 enlisted ranks feldmutze for Wurttemberg Regiment 122. Approximately 3 to 5 years ago a quantity of field caps were found in Germany, all had been folded flat, virtually all were Wurttemberg but there were some Prussian. The majority of the Wurttemberg feldmutzes were regimentally marked. Regimentals purchased approximately 5 of them, we sold this one some years ago and have purchased it back from the collector who has the most exacting standards in quality. This example totally moth free, all nap of cloth present with its large size national and Wurttemberg cockades. The interior white heavy cotton lining clearly oval stamped maker marked, size ‘61’ stamped, army group stamped ‘B.A.XIII’ (Army Group 13) ‘1916’ with the regimental marking of ‘F.R.122’ (Fusilier Regiment 122).
