Regimentals are pleased to announce that we have just purchased one of the largest uniform based collections in Europe consisting of over 4000 quality items. The collection is probably one of the largest uniform based collections of WWII in Europe. The owner of the collection has been a customer of ours and a personal friend since 1982 and has applied himself with great care in the collating of this collection, even to the extent of insisting that when acquiring complete uniforms, the colour of the tunic and trousers had to match. He started collecting in 1963 when his grandmother from the Trieste area of Italy presented him the first item of his future collection being a Steyr M.1912 9mm pistol, which belonged to his grandfather in WWI, who was a soldier in the Austrian Army Mountain Troops who fought against his second grandfather, who was then serving in the cavalry of the Royal Italian Army. The whole collection includes more than 600 mannequins of 21 different nations of both WWI and WWII, all in combat uniform and fully equipped. Many of the items have been individually published in various magazine articles and starting in 1988 the collector has organised more than 20 historical public exhibitions in Italy presenting his uniforms and relics of both World War I and II. The collection comprises German paratrooper items, Waffen SS, Whermacht, Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe uniforms and equipment. Many British divisional battledress uniforms including paratrooper items, RAF uniforms, Army and Commando Royal Navy uniforms and equipment. U.S. paratrooper, U.S.Marine Corps, U.S.Army Air Force and Women Service uniforms and associated equipment. As each item goes onto our site it will be marked with an indicator that this item came from this magnificent Italian based collection. Our plan is as follows, we will be loading approximately 100 to 125 items onto our web site every two to three weeks over the coming months. Viewers of the web site will notice that we will not feature any particular arm of service or Country in particular on any one update. There is will be a mixture of all of the items both some of the more exotic items and standard items.
